Castles, naturally, have been the military strongholds throughout history from Norman times through to places such as Dover Castle and Stirling Castle still in use beyond the Second World War.

Castles are a stunning backdrop for all periods of event and in many cases the history we recreate happened on that very ground.

Many of the UK's castles have been sieged throughout the Wars of the Roses and the English Civil War, both periods in which we specialise.

Many castles also saw action during the Second World War as barracks, gun batteries and bunkers.
