English Civil War Pike Displays

The pikeman is only ever seen on the Civil War battlefield.

Before the development of the bayonet, the pikeman was deployed to protect the musket blocks from cavalry attack

Working as a seamless unit our pikemen will demostrate their defensive techniques and formations which need to be done exactly else they leave a weak point for the enemy to exploit.

Having demonstrated the moves, the formations and the requirements of the pikeman on the battlefield then the standard will be raised and the recruitment call made for volunteers to join either the Kings Army or the New Model Army.

Children can volunteer to join the first English redcoats of Cromwell or the gallant Cavaliers of King Charles and train as pikemen alongside our performers.

This is as hands on an experience as your visitors can get as they experience the same training and the same reliance on the unit as faced during this period of conflict.
