Typical costs for extras

Foreign can provide authentically costumed and trained extras and combatants for your production..

Fees for these are greatly dependant on the role for which they are being employed. For example a knight in full 15th century armour costs more than a billman because of the higher upkeep costs of the armour.

Typical costs are as follows:

Trained and costumed performers of both military and civillian portrayals such as 15th Century Archers, Napoleonic Riflemen, Roman Infantry or Second World War Soldiers.

Cost: Approximately £150 to £200 per day plus travel allowance.

Trained but non-costumed performers, trained to march, fight and use the correct tactics.

Cost: Approximately £100 to £160 per day plus travel allowance.

Why pay?

Save Time: If you use an everyday extras agency for your historical work you will almost certainly have to track down the correct clothing. Then you will need time to train them the marching or fighting techniques.

Save money: Hiring in or creating the correct costumes for extras not only costs you the time mentioned above, but also costs you money. This would take the price of each extra from £65 a day to £250 a day and upwards.

Authenticity: Especially in the field of documentary making, your extras need to behave and dress in the appropriate manner. History enthusiasts will be looking for these details and making distributors aware of any faults. You can avoid these criticisms with our pool of performers.
