RAISES £600 FOR THREE GOOD CAUSES

TWO former
soldiers went on parade at the weekend in aid of three causes
close to their hearts.
David
Hillerby and Timothy Speary raised more than £600 on
a ten-mile march around Sedgefield, Bishop Middleham and Fishburn
on Saturday.
Donations
will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, in memory of Mr. Speary's
late wife, Carol, the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families
Association and a new Sedgefield Veterans club.
It is
hoped the money for the club will help attract other funders
to contribute towards a commemorative event on National Veterans
Day next June.
The men
were joined by Mr. Hillerby's sister, Phyllis, and Paul Bavill,
of heritage group Foreign Field Events which will be involved
in next year's event.
Mr. Hillerby
and Mr. Speary will hold an exhibition at Ceddesfield Hall,
Sedgefield from 10am to 4pm on Saturday October 21.
